Posted PRESIDENT & VP colors, (don't know the middle flag) and two PCs. Since the ceremony is outside, I guessing the color bearers are acting as stands since there aren't any GUARDS. PC = personal color (Chairman JCS and general's flags in this case). All of the staffs are only for these colors and the finials are spread eagles.

I thought the Marine Corps took care of this stupidity. 👉 In the southwest (mainly TX), the Mesoamerica tradition of the quinceañera, celebrating the 15th birthday of a young hispanic woman, is very popular. Dashing young men, dressed inappropriately in the US Marine Corps uniform blouse, are the birthday girl's escorts. Wearing the blouse is bad enough since the buttons have the EGA, but wearing rank is unacceptable. ⚠️Please be careful with your comments.

Sent in by a follower! Apparently, proper colors posting techniques were not taught at this CAP academy. At all. There is so much going on here that is wrong and that is very unfortunate. 👉Years ago, Civil Air Patrol and Sea Cadets used to send their senior members to training so that they could get two weeks tons of useful training. Now? Nothing. That's bad news for cadets and the both programs in general. Proper training in drill and ceremonies fundamentals is SEVERELY lacking in both programs.

I receive the "When can we wear the utility uniform to present the colors?" question a couple of times each year. The answer is, "only when the official party is wearing it." Never off base unless your team is part of a larger formation in utilities.

Other than that, don't be like this team: ❌Both flags held by the bearers ❌harnesses much too low ❌Left hand placement on rifle ❌Right rifle too high ❌unauthorized "color bearer" gloves with the ridiculous velcro strap ❌inconsistent spacing

Thank you to my Sailor friends, especially former Ceremonial Guardsman @_alecwhite_ for helping me understand the competitive flags of the US Navy's Boot Camp. Each flag has different meaning and is like a guidon awarded for achievements throughout training. 👉In a previous post, I noted the flags and the dowels to which they were attached. I agree that trainees can be like gorillas when it comes to equipment. No wonder guidon staffs with battle-ax finials aren't used, the flags get lots of mileage!

The photos are from 2018 and can illustrate a couple of points still today (where "today" is every day from now into the future). FYI, Guard and Reserve are notorious for filling positions with stripes where Active Duty would mostly have A1Cs on colors and firing party. 👉First photo: ❌Team, you are in a hangar, why are you not at Right Shoulder? ❌Wrong right hand technique for the right rifle guard, fingers always wrap around the small of the stock for colors. ❌Your slings are threaded through the #StackingSwivel and that's incorrect. 👉Second photo: Wrapped right hand fingers, torqued wrists, flared left hand, wrapped thumbs, and incorrect rifle spacing from the torso - take your pick of the incorrect techniques pictured here.

The Old Guard had the opportunity to bury a former POW a short time ago. It's considered a PC (personal color) and this picture is the only time you should see the POW/MIA in the hands of a member of the US military. It is NEVER paraded on its own any other time and is NEVER part of a color guard. 👉This goes for our military, veterans groups, and cadets. It is a private organization's flag that was adopted for funerals only.

Sent in by a follower! This is the NC CAP Wing ftom 2017. I'm willing to bet nothing has changed due to funding (equipment) and a lack of training because the issues have not been identified before. Here we go.

1️⃣Only the right hand on the staff unless dealing with strong wind. Hand at shoulder level, forearm horizontal. Left hand at the side, no arm swing for the team. 2️⃣Wrong and inconsistent grips on the rifles. The slings are mounted incorrectly through the #StackingSwivel - Please remove the barrel caps for a performance. Tape around the stock and sling is not authorized. 3️⃣Is that a sports team novelty flag? Anyone in a USAF uniform is not authorized to carry any flag not specifically allowed (national, foreign national, state, territory, departmental, organizational, or unit only). The flag probably doesn't have a pole hem (again, not authorized to carry), and needs fringe. 4️⃣For CAP, the left rifle guard may choose which shoulder to use, unfortunately. For all other AF teams, the left guard executes Left Shoulder. 5️⃣Wrong staffs and most likely finials. Light ash wood guidon staffs with the flat, silver Army Spearhead only. 6️⃣All staffs must be slightly inclined forward and all angles matching the US staff.

Reading manuals this morning. It's quite discouraging to read inaccurate information, so I'm putting this out. I'm working to get service info uniform, it will just take time.

⚠️Just to be clear. The two authorized staff lengths for the Army, Air Force, and Space Force are 8' and 9.5' long. The Marine Corps, Navy, and Coast Guard staffs are only 9.5'. The AF may display flags on a 7' staff--a color guard may post that staff length indoors but can NEVER carry it in any other situation. ⚠️

The #AmericanCadetAlliance, founded in 1909, used

The #AmericanCadetAlliance, founded in 1909, used to have Army, Marine, and Navy cadets in the program. Marine and Navy cadets went away in the 80s and it developed into what is now, #MilitaryCadets, an Army-based (but no affiliation) program. Extreme Military Challenge is an offshoot of that. In the New England area, many local cadet programs were created at the local level, many by churches, and some even included drum and bugle corps, bell corps, flag corps, and dance troupes.

There are many cadet programs other than #JROTC, but, to my understanding, according to a law passed by Congress in 1930, cadet programs are prohibited from using the terms, #USArmy, #Marines, #Navy, and #AirForce. #CoastGuard is probably the same. So, that's why we have #SeaCadets, #YoungMarines (sanctioned by the Marine Corps League) and #CivilAirPatrol - we've always had and always will have #SpaceCadets they just weren't formally organized before. 😄😄
