Biography:
Ben is the lead guard at right. Firefighter Ben Singley, CDM, CG, resides in Kennewick, WA, with his wife, Katie, & four daughters. He is a firefighter and paramedic of 15 years (as of 2021), who has previously worked for the Tucson Fire Department and currently works with the Kennewick Fire Department in Southeastern Washington State. He became involved with color guard through the Boy Scouts of America and was a member of the Tucson Fire Department Honor Guard before relocating to the Pacific Northwest.
Ben is one of the founding members of the Tri-Cities Professional Firefighter Honor Guard, which was formed in 2017. This is where he received his first formal ceremonial drill training from The DrillMaster. Because of the strong foundation provided by the Drillmaster’s Certified Ceremonial Guardsman academy, the Tri-Cities Professional Firefighter Honor Guard and its members have developed a reputation for excellence in their presentation and performance.
Locally, the Tri-Cities Honor Guard works closely with the Kennewick PD and Benton County Sheriff’s Honor Guard, and they have performed in multiple joint events to date. The Honor Guard provides services for Benton and Franklin counties, and regularly participates in events, memorials, and LODDs regionally and statewide.
Ben has developed a passion for ceremonial drill and has pursued the Drillmaster certification to elevate the standards of the Tri-Cities Honor Guard, as well as other honor guards in the region. He is excited to continue his training with the Drillmaster; as he says, “Education is Key!”
