All services allow the three-man color guard. It is described in all three manuals. It is not usual, but used in Washington DC for foreign national VIP visits. Locally, it is more or less used only as a last resort when manning for the four-man team cannot be met.

1. When and where is a 3 man color guard allowed? (1 U.S. flag and 2 rifles)?
2. Does the Marine Corps allow this?
Thanks,
Dan
