Recently I came across a member of the Florida National Guard exclaiming that you can NEVER fly an interment flag (sometimes called a casket or burial flag), the flag that is draped on a casket, folded and presented to the next of kin. How silly! It has grommets in it for the purpose of attaching it to a halyard to fly it!
The flag thst is 5’x5’6″ is what the military calls a general purpose flag. There is no reason whatsoever that one should not fly a flag that has been draped on a casket.
There is nothing in the Flag Code or military regulation that says the interment flag is not to be flown. Yes, fly your flag if you choose to do so, it’s yours!

Mr. Landis,
Yes, an interment flag is a burial flag. Fly it whenever you would like.
