Bob was my first supervisor in the USAF. He PCSd from England in 1988 and we haven't seen each other since! So good to meet his wife and introduce him to mine and great to catch up!

He picked a terrible week to vacation in Orlando, however!

I'm VERY disappointed. Those I thought were friends have fled, one-by-one, over the years. Simultaneously, I've gained tens of thousands of readers and viewers.

Why leave and block? Cowardice to face the truth. When one blocks the truth, no matter how uncomfortable it may be, that individual no longer adheres to standards and has now put his/her preferences as top priority.

You blocked me because you didn't want this video showing up in my feed. You just don't know who my friends and readers are and that EVERYTHING gets sent to me.

Proper training gives you a understanding of proper technique. Training is essential but if you just have someone who picked up info here and there, you're definitely lacking in understanding of the why behind the proper what.

I have followed behind other "trainers" and corrected so many bad and wrong positions and techniques over the years. Just because you call yourself something doesn't make it true. It's the FRUIT of what you do that gives credence to your words. There's rotten fruit out there from bad training.

❌You should be at Close Interval. ❌As for battle streamers, it's all departmental colors or none. ❌All staffs must be the same length. ❌All colors must be the same dimensions.

You must remember that, in this uniform, when you only have a shirt and trouser combination and no blouse (uniform "jacket"), the web or ceremonial belt is worn OVER, not above, the uniform belt. All you have to do is ensure that you completely cover the uniform belt so that you cannot see it.

Now, having said that I have to add, do your best. If your body type just doesn't allow the web belt to stay in place, once it moves, you cannot adjust it mid-ceremony.

The problem with the USAF ceremonial uniform is that it's not that easy to have one cadet (in this case) wear it and then adjust the arm length of the blouse for another cadet to wear it. Now, the silver braid is too high.

Moving the silver braid on the sleeves is not an option because the sewing leaves marks and removing it is tricky. The trousers are different, the length can be adjusted as long as the seamstress sewed enough on for the whole length of the legs.

What on earth were you thinking, @jbsalackland - I bet it was "Well, the American flag is right there being raised on the flagstaff, so that's that requirement taken care of."

This photo, a screenshot taken from the Joint Base San Antonio website sent to me moments ago, shows a vacuous understanding of the difference between a color guard and a flag detail.

❌AFPAM 34-1203 tells us the American flag MUST be the first flag in the color guard formation. It HAS TO BE THERE. a flag elsewhere does not fill that requirement. ❌AFI 34-1201 tells us that the USAF departmental is not carried on its own and does not receive guards. That means extends to the other departmental colors.

You have two unauthorized and incomplete color guards here and no one realized. Surprising? Actually, yes. You'd think SOMEONE in the planning phase for this ceremony would at a minimum crack open relevant AF regs. That's supposed to be part of the process. But, nope. We're good virtue signaling that we remember. We're "honoring" by dishonoring.

How can you memorize the sequence? I get asked this at least once each school year. Here's my reply:

Tape a copy to your bathroom mirror, have another at the breakfast table, keep a copy on you and pull it out when in the car or on the bus, and and go through the sequence in your mind again and again. Picture yourself and the team on the drill deck at each position. Visualizing the sequence will help you memorize it.

A color guard of @usnavyeuropeafrica presenting the colors for a change of command. ❌The colors are backwards, ❌bearer left hands not at their sides, ❌guards are flaring ghrir left hands on the upper hand guard, and ❌the national is lower than the USMC. ❌Spacing reveals more practice was needed.

Yes! Finally! As Tchaikovsky's 4th Symphony in F minor, Op 36 plays in the background, I am into the guard information for my latest book! I created a manual for the hiking staff several years ago when a Scout leader asked for it and I'm now getting it in print, we'll it's close!

This book is for youth programs that are not necessarily tied to the military and still use a color guard formations. I'll even have the "Boat Hook" (the short ceremonial firefighter pike pole) manual of arms for Sea Scouts.

Always good to get messages from those who profess to be a Christian (it's on her account in two different lines) and yet are just lashing out irrationally in such an arrogant and childish manner.

Enjoy the anonymous spotlight, cadet. You and your ilk will one day see the light. I hope it's sooner rather than later.

FYI, I receive apologies from adults and cadets, every so often. Those apologies come with wording that says the individual was mad for a time, eventually read through the manual, and realized all I was doing was upholding and referencing standards. Some learn, most don't.

If you have guidon flags like this, they are made of 400 denier Nylon and ferl like wool. This flag, like the others, is kept furled and cased when not in use, hence the wrinkles. You must steam the wrinkles out, please do not iron the flag or you could destroy it.

I wonder how old these flags are.
