Walking for the Fallen - USAUPDATE: New blog site! Click here.

The “Montana Honor Guard” is taking “Standing for the Fallen ~ Montana” on a road trip across the United States. A walking route that will begin in Everett Washington, 31 March 2013, pass through twelve (12) US States and finish at the Vietnam War Memorial at our Nation’s Capitol in Washington D.C. in late October.

“Walking for the Fallen ~ USA”, a Marine Corps Veteran led non-profit organization, started in Ronan, Montana, is currently seeking help in the acquisition of equipment necessary to make this journey. A push type touring (double child) carrier will transport trip equipment and a self made “Battle Cross Memorial”, which includes the traditional boots, rifle, and helmet, the strong visual icon of fallen soldiers. The route’s topography will be mainly paved roads and the Montana Honor Guard will average between 20 & 25 miles per day to cover the 3100 mile route. The Montana Honor Guard is asking for your support. Your assistance will, literally, go a long way, one step at a time, to help solidify the Montana Honor Guard’s mission and message to communities across our great country.

  1. Wishing you a safe and happy journey! I’m proud of what you are doing and the meaning. I served in the USN from 1980 – 1984 in the Emergency Rooms of NAS JAX and NRMC in Naples, Italy. I was stationed at the Naval Hospital of Naples, Italy when the Marine barracks in Beirut was bombed and we received some of the USA’s finest to attend to/or transfer to burn centers in Texas for immediate and long term care. :(

I, for one, am very disappointed in the fact that our country is being run by those that have denied showing our fallen the honor and pride they deserve of letting all see them come home, be photographed and counted as an individual and as a whole.

We saw you as you were nearing Kalispell around the 24th of April!

    Semper Fi! Bette
