Sapulpa Marine Junior Reserve Officer Training Program cadets participated in the Mountain Grove Inter-Service Drill Meet Jan. 31-Feb.1 from where they came away with a second place overall mark, finishing behind first placing Ozark High’s Junior ROTC drill team.

“There can be up to 60 commands our kids have to know, it is mind boggling. Sapulpa MCJROTC practices drill 3-4 p.m. every afternoon, our cadets are very dedicated. Before a drill competition they practice two hours a day,” said Maj. Jerry Swepston, ROTC instructor.

Sapulpa MCJROTC cadets also came away with three first place trophies, a second place award for female color guard drill, and a third place trophy for their performance at armed platoon drill.
